Hand Knitted, with Majorica Pearl

Glowie is a hand knitted piece made to its own design. It has a lining and an inner pocket, so it's a bag that gets used rather than a decorative object.

The pearls are A grade Majorica. A Majorica pearl has a more durable surface than a natural pearl, which matters on a product as exposed to rubbing as a bag. A bag knocks against things, gets put down on tables and carried on the shoulder; natural pearl would wear faster in that use.

When Each Colour Works

Silver and gold tend to be chosen for occasions like receptions, engagements and weddings. Both are light in colour and work with evening wear.

Black offers a wider range of use. It can be carried in the daytime as well as the evening. If you're buying one bag, black is the most flexible choice.

Matching It to Jewellery

The bag and the jewellery don't have to be in the same metal, but keeping them in the same family pulls the look together. A silver bag works with the silver collection, and a gold bag with the gold plated pieces.

A black bag builds a consistent whole with the black pearl pieces.

Care

The bag is hand knitted and covered in pearls, so it isn't machine washable. Wiping it with a damp soft cloth is enough.

Keeping it in a cloth pouch when you aren't using it protects both the knit and the pearls. Not carrying heavy items also keeps the knit in shape.

How Much It Holds

Glowie is a small bag. A phone, cards, a lipstick and keys fit comfortably. It isn't designed for a large wallet or a notebook.

The inner pocket is useful for separating small items, so cards and keys don't get lost at the bottom of the bag. The lining also means nothing slips out through the knit.

That size is enough for reception and wedding use. If you carry more in everyday use, a second bag may be needed.
