In a piercing earring the post works differently from a normal earring. Cartilage and pierced areas are narrower, so both the post is thinner and the fastening is built differently.

All of Them Silver Based

All 11 models in this category are built on 925 sterling silver Some are plain silver and some are gold plated silver.

That isn't a coincidence. A piercing stays where it is for long stretches and is in constant contact with skin. Brass and similar alloys carry a risk of reaction in that kind of use; silver doesn't.

Mostly Majorica Pearl

Most models use Majorica pearl. Scarlett uses an 8 mm natural freshwater pearl instead.

Majorica pearl gives a cleaner sphere and has a more durable surface. In a product that stays in place continuously, like a piercing, that is a practical advantage.

Silver and Gold Pairs

Jenny and Anja each come in a silver and a gold version. If you already wear other piercings or earrings in the same ear, that makes matching the metal easier.

If You've Just Had a New Piercing

A newly pierced hole shouldn't have its jewellery changed until it has healed. Once it has, choosing silver for the first piece is the safest route.

The cartilage heals more slowly than the lobe. For that area you can also look at the tragus piercing earring and tragus piercing earring and cartilage earring You can also check out their models.

Where on the Ear It Goes

A piercing earring doesn't belong to one spot. The lobe is the most common and the fastest to heal. The helix is the cartilage along the outer rim, the tragus is the small flap in front of the ear canal, and the conch is the central hollow of the ear.

Each area heals at a different pace. The lobe closes over in a few weeks while cartilage areas can take months. That's why, if you've just had a new spot pierced, the advice is not to change the jewellery early and to choose silver.

What Drives the Price

In this category the price difference comes from two things: the metal and the pearl. Plain 925 silver models are the most affordable group. The gold plated ones sit slightly above because of the plating work.

The type and size of the pearl feed into the price too. The 8 mm natural freshwater pearl in Scarlett is a different cost line from the Majorica pearl used in the other models.
