In this category pearl doesn't stand alone, a coloured natural stone comes with it. The stone is usually what defines the necklace, because its colour stands out immediately next to the white of the pearl.

Which Stone Gives Which Colour

Seven different natural stones are used in the collection and each gives the necklace a different colour. Gemma has bronzite, a gold-toned stone leaning brown. Venetta has garnet, deep red. Roxanne has kyanite, the greyish side of blue. The Hilly line uses strawberry quartz, pinkish and semi-transparent. Kate has mother of pearl, the most harmonious of them because it comes from the pearl's own family. Hemera has hematite, metallic grey. Velora, Aurora, Liliana and Becca have jade, in colours from green through to lilac.

The most practical way to choose a stone colour is to look at which colour dominates your wardrobe. If you dress neutrally, a saturated stone like garnet or jade creates contrast. If you already dress in colour, calmer stones like mother of pearl and bronzite fit in more easily.

The Pearl Side

Most of the necklaces here are built around baroque pearl and its irregular form gives every bead a different shape. Gemma uses 12-13 mm and Venetta 9-10 mm baroque pearl. Some models use classic freshwater pearl instead.

The irregular surface of baroque pearl works well with natural stone, because neither of them is trying to be perfect. Next to a classic round pearl strand these necklaces read as less formal.

Material and Length

Every necklace in this category is brass with gold plating. If you're looking for silver, the silver collection is the better place to look.

Necklace lengths sit mainly between 40 and 42 cm, and most have a 3 cm extension chain. This range sits at the base of the neck and works with both closed and open collars.

Because it is plating, perfume and sea water wear it down. Putting the necklace on at the very end of getting ready, and taking it off first when the day ends, extends the life of the plating.

In short

  • If you dress neutrally: saturated colours like garnet, jade or kyanite.
  • If you dress in colour: mother of pearl or bronzite.
  • The largest pearl: Gemma, 12-13 mm baroque.
  • Sensitive skin: this category is plated, look at the silver collection.
  • For every form: pearl necklace collection.
