Hoop Earrings

On a hoop, the pearl sits on or hangs from a metal ring. Next to a stud it reads as more geometric and more modern.

Choosing a Diameter

Diameter is the choice that matters. Mini hoops work on any face and suit everyday wear. Mid and larger hoops add width, which tends to balance a longer face.

On rounder faces, mini and mid-size hoops usually sit better than very large ones.

Why Choose Hoops?

Hoops have one practical advantage: because the form is closed, they are far less likely than drops to snag on knitwear, scarves and long hair. In winter that difference is noticeable.

They also show when hair is tied up and add movement to an outfit. With short hair or an updo, a hoop is often enough on its own, with no necklace needed.

Metal and Care

Hoops are made in 925 sterling silver and gold-plated brass. For sensitive ears we would suggest silver, since it has no plating layer.

Pearl has a porous surface and chemicals damage it. Putting earrings on after perfume and hairspray, and wiping them with a soft cloth when you take them off, is usually enough.
